Search of Home Located Close to Church and Daycare Results in Two Drug Arrests

Members of the Drew County Sheriff's Department and the Monticello Police Department executed a search warrant of a residence located at 605 East Trotter Street in Monticello on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at about 5:15 pm. The residence had been under survelliance for some time and deputies had received information regarding the possible transaction of drugs. During the search, a small quantity of what is believed to be cocaine was discovered in one of the bedrooms. Arrested was Kareena Gold, age 29, tenant of the home. Also arrested was James Lambert, age 30 of Star City. Lambert was in possession of approximately 4.4 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine.

Both were booked in to the Drew County Detention Facility and charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession in proximity to certain buildings (a church and daycare). Gold was also charged with maintaining a drug premises. Bond has not been set pending a first appearance on Wednesday, June 10 at 3:00 pm.
