Three Men Arrested in Local Theft

On December 8, 2019 the Drew County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a residence on Rose Hill Cutoff Road in reference to a theft. Deputy Stark spoke with the victim, which stated a shop behind the residence had been broken into. Items reported stolen included a generator, air compressor, chainsaw and a pole saw. On December 9, 2019 Detective Rick Harvey located a pole saw, Coleman generator and an air compressor at two Pawn Shops in Pine Bluff, AR. which were determined to be the stolen property. Antwan Matthews was listed as the person selling the property at both locations on December 3, 2019. After conducting interviews and viewing surveillance video obtained from the pawn shops Antwan Matthews, age 43 of Monticello and Samuel Joseph McKee, age 34 of Monticello, was charged with Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property. Matthews and McKee were in jail on previous charges at the time of their arrest. Timothy Toth, age 41 of Monticello, was also charged with Theft by Receiving due to his involvement in handling the stolen items and driving the other suspects to the pawn shops in Pine Bluff, AR. On December 13, 2019 Matthews and McKee appeared before Judge Bruce Anderson for a First Appearance hearing. Judge Anderson set Matthews bond at $25,000 and Mckee's bond was set at $20,000. On December 17, 2019 Timothy Toth was arrested and appeared before Judge Bruce Anderson for a First Appearance hearing. Judge Anderson set Toth's bond at $20,000. All three subjects remain in jail at the time of this news release.
