Reward Offered in Animal Cruelty Case

02/26/2019

On February 25th at approximately 9:40 PM Drew County deputies were called to Deeper Green Road, off of Tennessee Spur Road, which is located on Hwy 278 West due to a report of a dog being observed with his mouth taped closed with red duct tape. The reddish color mixed pit bill ran off when deputies located it. However the deputies were able to catch the dog a few hundred yards away. Once caught, the tape was cut loose and the dog managed to get free and ran away again. The dog appeared to be malnourished according to reports but was not aggressive.

If you have any information regarding the person or persons responsible for the cruelty to the dog it is asked that you contact Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober or Chief Deputy Brian Slaughter at 870-367-6211. A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest in this case.
