Information Sought in Animal Abuse Case

Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober says that authorities are still looking for information in an animal abuse case in which someone killed a cat be setting it on fire.

The burning cat was discovered the afternoon of February 8 by a Spring Branch resident who saw a calicao cat run between two homes and towards a street in the Spring Branch subdivision. Behind the cat was a teen-aged boy with light colored brown hair wearing a white or light grey t-shirt and blue jeans. The cat ran to a nearby residence where it go into the motor compartment of a vehicle. The cat was taken to a local vet but died the next day.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are urged to contact the Drew County Sheriff's Department at 367-6211 or email info@drewcountysheriff.com.
