Cash and Drugs Seized During Search Warrant

On Friday, February 18th, the Drew County Sheriff's Department conducted a search warrant at 430 East Oakland Street located at the corner of East Oakland and Conley Street. Members of Monticello Police Department assisted in the search of the residence. When officers arrived, there were two suspects standing in the driveway and another two sitting in a car under the carport. Both suspects in the driveway were apprehended immediately. One of the suspects in the driveway, Undrea Lambert, age 20 of Monticello, was seen just moments before being arrested throwing a large clear bag containing a green leafy substance of what is believed to be marijuana weighing nearly an ounce on the ground.

One of the occupants sitting on the driver side of the vehicle parked under the carport fled into the side door of the house and did lock the door. Deputies, however, were able to break into the house quickly and apprehend the resident, Eric Brown, age 32 of Monticello. Deputies recovered approximately 10.29 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine, approximately 4 grams of one individually wrapped bag of a green leafy substance which is believed to be that of marijuana, and a set of digital scales. The other occupant of the vehicle fled and was apprehended after a foot chase approximately one hundred yards from the scene. This suspect was Jarell Spencer, age 24 of Monticello. Spencer was transported by ambulance to Drew Memorial Hospital for an injury sustained during the chase. Spencer will likely be charged with fleeing.

Undrea Lambert will likely be charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. Eric Brown will likely be charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to deliver. Both Lambert and Brown were taken in front of District Judge Ken Harper on their first appearance and received a $50,000 bond each. Neither Brown nor Lambert has bonded at this time.

Approximately $1,100 in cash was seized from the scene. The street value of the suspected crack cocaine is believed to be approximately $1,600. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober says that this residence has been suspected of distributing large amounts of illegal drugs into the community and thanks area residents for the support in ridding suspected drug dealer from our neighborhoods.
