Four Cited for Criminal Mischief at Lake Monticello

03/19/2010

On March 18 at approximately 10 pm, Drew County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call at the Hunger Run Access at Lake Monticello. Deputies were advised that a large crowd, most between the ages of 17 and 19 years old, had gathered at the lake and that several of the people were trying to push a boat trailer into the lake from the boat launch and, also, that someone from the bank was shooting a BB-gun at a boat in the lake that was occupied by a fisherman.

Upon arrival, deputies cited four individuals for criminal mischief. The remainder of the crowd was ordered to leave the lake. It is believed that the majority of these people live in Bradley County.

Sheriff Gober says that due to the warmer temperatures, deputies will step up the patrols at the lake.
