Endangering the Welfare of Minors and Possession of Drugs Lands Couple in Jail

Drew County Sheriff's Department with the assistance of Monticello Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence located at 796 Highway 278 West on December 29th. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober had information of drugs being sold out of the residence. Prior to this date the department had received complaints of traffic in and out during all our hours of the day.

During the search authorities found drug paraphernalia and approximately 2.4 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The couple residing at the residence is Marchello Woods and Leshaundria King, as well as two small children, one age 8 and a newborn infant. Woods and King, both age 27, were arrested and placed in the Drew County Detention Facility. The Department of Human Services was notified and placed the children with a relative.

Marchello Woods was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor. His bond was set at $10,000. He bonded the next day. Lashaundria King was charged with possession with intent to deliver and endangering the welfare of a minor. Her bond was set at $15,000. She posted bond the same day.
