Dog Sustains Injuries From Vehicle

03/24/2020

On March 24th at 8:30 a.m. the Drew County Sheriff's Department received a call from dispatch that a dog had been struck by a vehicle on Highway 35 South of Drew County. Deputy Doug Stark and Sheriff Mark Gober responded to the area and located the dog in the ditch just east of the Cominto community. The dog appeared to have injuries to his rear torso; with ropes and the help of a citizen that stopped to assist, the dog was transported to Monticello Animal Clinic to be examined. There was not a collar on the dog for identification, he does appear to be a Shepard mix. Anyone that might identify the owner or the dog can contact Monticello Animal Clinic 870-367-1500 or the Drew County Sheriff's Department 870-367-6211.
