Monticello Man Arrest for Vehicle Break-Ins

A series of vehicle break-ins were reported to the Drew County Sheriff's Department and the UAM University Police between the dates of December 5, 2019 and December 8, 2019. The Drew County Sheriff's Department, in a joint investigation with University Police and agents from the Drug Task Force, recovered a large number of stolen property which included ice chest, a tree climbing stand, tool sets, a jig saw, a skill saw, a pair of hunting boots and a battery charger. On December 16, 2019 Jacob Darnell, age 21 of Monticello, AR was arrested by the Drew County Sheriff's Department and charged with 3 counts of Breaking or Entering and 3 counts of Theft of Property and booked into the Drew County Detention Facility. On December 17, 2019 Darnell appeared before Judge Bruce Anderson for a First Appearance hearing. Darnell's bond was set at $5000. Darnell has bonded out of jail.
