Dumas Man Arrested for Drugs and Firearm

On Thursday, August 31st, Deputy Daniel Garrison made a traffic stop on a vehicle for no license plate and a tail light that was out.  The driver was identified as Joshua Tarlton of Dumas. 

During the stop Deputy Garrison noticed the stock of a rifle sticking out from under a large backpack in the passenger seat.  Mr. Tarlton was asked to step out of the vehicle for the deputy’s safety.

During the search of the vehicle the deputies discovered a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and two plastic bags with what was believed to be methamphetamine.

Tarlton was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. 

Tarlton has since bonded out of the Drew County Detention Facility on a $5,000.00 bond.
