A Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy received a report of a possible intoxicated driver located on Highway 35 North at approximately 8:45 PM on Sunday, August 19^th. The deputy was able to locate the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle cross the center line twice. As the deputy approached the vehicle he noticed an open beer in the cup holder inside the vehicle. A field sobriety test was given to the driver, Larry Carter, age 54 of Monticello. He was arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with DWI.
