The Drew County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant on Friday, August 24^th at a residence located at 1630 East Jackson Street in Monticello. During the search, authorities located a 22 rifle hidden in an old truck bed covered with a tarp. An arrest warrant was then issued for the owner of the items who is a convicted felon. John H. Miller, age 47 of Monticello, was arrested by authorities and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with possession of firearms by certain persons. Miller had just bonded out of the CDF that same day on charges of aggravated assault. Miller remains in jail at this time on a parole hold.
