Deer Camp Buildings Damaged by Stolen Tractor

On the morning of Thursday, July 5th, the Drew County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a possible stolen tractor from an area located on Highway 133 in Wilmar. While the deputy was talking to the owner of the tractor at the scene of the crime, he heard what was believed to be a tractor running in the distance. The missing tractor was located across the highway from where the tractors was missing at Wynne Deer Camp which consists of five mobile homes and a tin building, all of which were damages after being ran into by the tractor. The owner of the tractor told authorities that he had been using the tractor the night before and had left the key in the ignition. The tractor did also receive damage as a result of this incident. The estimated damage to the deer camp is between $20,000 and $30,000.

The Sheriff’s Department is looking for any information leading to the arrest of the person who took the tractor. Anyone with information is asked to call 367-6211 or leave a tip via computer at www.drewcountysheriff.com
