On Sunday, March 18, at approximately 1:45 am, Drew County Sheriff Department deputies were dispatched to Carl O’Neil Road in reference to an ATV accident with a male and female being injured. Witnesses told the deputies on scene that a Ranger ATV had been parked in the middle of the road with the lights off when the male subject who was driving a different ATV approached the Ranger striking it in the rear causing the male and the female passenger to fly off the ATV into the ditch. The female passenger was transported by personal vehicle to Drew Memorial Hospital where she was treated for a broken toe and fractured wrist. Paramedics called in Air-Evac to transport the male driver to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.
