On Thursday, March 8th at approximately 11: AM, the Drew County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding a house fire in Winchester on Old Hwy 65. The Sheriff’s Department was informed that while fire fighters were putting out the fire at the residence they observed a body lying in the bedroom floor. When authorities arrived they observed a body lying in a bedroom located in the southeast corner of the house. They body was identified of that to be of William (Bill) Hogue, age 60 of Winchester, formerly a residence of the Florence community. The body was recovered and sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner. The cause of the death and fire are still under investigation. Hogue reportedly lived alone. The house was a total loss.
