On the night of Friday, March 2^nd, at approximately 8:00 pm, a Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy received a call reporting that some teenagers in a white Ford Ranger were stealing a buoy from Lake Monticello. While on his way to the lake the deputy met a truck matching the caller’s description which did, in fact, have a buoy in the back of the truck.

Jeremiah Hayden, 18, and Michael Knight, 18, both of Monticello, were charged with theft of property under a $1,000 and were released to go home. The buoy was returned to the City of Monticello.
