Two Arrested, Two Wanted Following Attack

01/17/2012

On January 13, Drew County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a residence located at 108 Collins-Moss Street in the Collins community in reference to a fight in progress.  When deputies arrived they were met by a tenant of the home who stated that he and some friends were watching a movie when someone knocked on the front door. The tenant answered the door and allowed James Suber into his home. Suber pulled a baseball bat out of his jeans and then Stephen Evans, 33 of Monticello, Heather Gladden, 31 of Monticello, and James Wilson came through the door and began fighting with the tenant’s friends. All four suspects left the residence when they were told that Sheriff Deputies were on their way.

A Deputy was able to locate Evans and Gladden who were arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. Evans was charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespassing. Gladden was charged with aggravated assault 2nd degree, terroristic threatening and criminal trespassing. Both Evans and Gladden were taken before a first appearance on January 17 and both were release on their own recognizance.

Warrants will likely be issued for James Suber and James Wilson.
