Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant located at 233 West College Street, Apartment C-8, at approximately 5:30 pm on September 23^rd after a week long investigation into possible drug transactions.

With this information a search warrant was obtained and officials entered the residence anddiscovered three cellophane bags containing a green leafy substance. Authorities also located a set of digital scales and several clear plastic bags containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

John A. Green, 24 of Monticello, was arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a minor, and distribution within proximities of certain facilities (daycare).

Green was taken for his first appearance before District Court Judge Ken Harper where he was given a bond of $5,000. Green bonded out on September 26.
