Two Suspects Arrest on Drug Charges

09/09/2011

While patrolling the area of Four Mile Creed Road on September 8 at approximately 8:00 PM, a Drew County Sheriff Deputy observed that a white pick-up truck was parked in the middle of the road. As the deputy approached the vehicle he came in contact with the driver of the vehicle, Angela Cessor, age 32 of Warren and noticed a clear bag containing a white substance lying beside her leg. As Cessor stepped out of the vehicle, the deputy observed her grabbing the bag and trying to hide it in her fist. After removing the bag from Cessor’s possession, the deputy then removed the passenger, Jimmy Reed, age 42 of Dermott, from the vehicle so that the vehicle could be searched. The deputy discovered a syringe along with other items located in a trash bag as well as a gas valve with brillo-pad stuffed in the end with a white residue in it.

Cessor and Reed were transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. While at the detention facility, a bag containing about 13 pills were found in Reed’s sock. Both individuals were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument of crime. Cessor and Reed were taken before Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson for their first appearances. Reed was release on his own recognizance per Judge Gibson. Cessor was initially given a bond of $5,000 but was eventually reduced to $3,000. She bonded out on September 14th.
